Reading Lansdale means finding yourself in politically incorrect stories, therefore pure, without censorship or hypocritical cuts or second thoughts. Lansdale goes on his way with the intention of showing the reader his world, Texas, but in the most atrocious and horrible way possible. I like his frankness about Lansdale, his decisive and tough style, but engaging at the same time. Her ability to write stories starting from little, from small events that then become big. Why I chose to read Lansdale I remember that one Christmas I was given one of his novels, The Thin Dark Line , which however I have yet to read.
I didn't know the author at the time, so it went Phone Number Data completely unnoticed by me. I chose Lansdale because it was fully captured by the novel At the Bottom of the Swamp , another gift, perhaps, I no longer remember now. I only know that I read that book and was blown away by the author's style. Joe Lansdale therefore quickly became one of my favorite authors, so much so that I then started buying his novels without even thinking about it. And I was lucky enough to meet him in Rome in 2010.
He is a helpful writer, who often offers writing advice on his Twitter account and on his Facebook page. The first novel read by Joe Lansdale It was, as I wrote before, At the Bottom of the Swamp , a novel in which there is dramatic horror, a story that brings out the theme of racism and its atrocities, showing the reader the darkest face of America. The same theme is found in his latest novel, Dark Water , two different but similar stories at the same time. But I also appreciated his two most famous characters, Hap and Leonard, from the noir series which was very successful.
